Final 10

Rolling stones

The type face for 'sun' and 'love & laugh' don't go well with each other needs more work to it.
I changed the fonts and arrangement, also added a little heart inside the 'V' in love. A subtle touch will works well.I felt the orange was a bit too intense and also orange never prints out that well. So i tried it with grey. The white on grey looks fresh.

1967

My first attempt of the poster...I thought the 'eyes' looked a bit wrong so I tried shearing it and adding lines. I think it still needs work
I added lines to emulate the shape of an eye.
It all looked a bit straight and the same size so I made the 'OPEN' bigger.

If 6 was 9

The lines either side of the big 'die' are causing me trouble. I can't get them to fit and look good. Here i put the lines so they are parelel against the lines and i changed the 'I'm' because it was too big

Hit the road Jack

The lyric ends in 'no more' but in some lines in the song it repeats 'no more, no more, no more'. I tried to repeat it and make it smaller to make it look like its fading out.

Here I tried putting the year in a lighter opacity in the background. I think it looks alright but maybe there is too much going on.

Final Lyrics for posters

1961

Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.

1962

It's not the way you smile that touched my heart. It's not the way you kissed that tears me apart.

1963

Could it be the devil in meOr is this the way love's supposed to be

1964

You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips.

And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips.

1965

Hello darkness, my old friend, I’ve come to talk with you again

1966

If I look hard enough into the setting sun

My love will laugh with me before the morning comes

1967

Although my eyes were open they might just as well of been closed

1968

I'm the one that's gonna have to die
When it's time for me to die
So let me live my life the way I want to.

1969

Love is old, love is new, Love is all, love is you

1970

The revolution will not be televised

Lyric posters

After a little talk with Amber about narrowing down the brief, I decided to make it so the lyrics come from each year in the 60's. This means i will have to research into what songs were made in each separate year and find the best lyrics

Finished Book

We Shape worlds

For the book fair i decided to make a book about men who have 'shaped' our world. I researched into different people but decided to go for men who not everyone would have necessarily heard of.

I chose, Nikola Tesla, Pablo Escobar, Hunter S Thompson, Joseph Kittinger and Alan Turing.

Because we are selling the books for quite a high price i decided to use a wooden cover to make it feel and seem more sturdy and meaty so people would pay for it.

Original Words.....

Illustration of Words...

Photo of Illustration...

How i did it,
Here is me getting a black t-shirt to wrap round my head.
I used tissue and painted tooth picks for the sheep with pen lids for the heads. The orange and red fabrics are pillow cases. Socks, cardboard, pens and scalpels for the trees.
Eggs, card, tooth picks, Garlic and pen were used to make the other animals.

Screen Prints

After MANY attempts at screen printing my design i decided that these two were the best ones. Im still not completely happy with them because of the slight imperfections at the bottom, but the screen printing always gives it a nice aesthetic

Umbrella

Colour Variations on Final layout

I think the green and blue with the white umbrellas look the best, i shall attempt to screen print these as i would think it would give a crisp defined edge with strong colours.
